Flight launch by SAS ensures direct Scandinavian route to Hong Kong

SAS-arrives-HongKong

Scandinavian Airlines took off with its maiden flight on September on the new route to Hong Kong, connecting Hong Kong as the only airline to connect the Asian metropolitan with Scandinavia. The new route to one of the world’s busiest airports is SAS’s fourth direct connection between Scandinavia and Asia. With five departures per week from Stockholm it provides excellent connections to cities in Scandinavia and other major European hubs.

“Today, we are writing a new chapter in the history of SAS, as we launch our direct route between Stockholm and Hong Kong. We are very proud to be linking Stockholm and the rest of Scandinavia with Hong Kong through a convenient new connection. We look forward to offering a warm welcome on board to all our customers,” says Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO of SAS.

As the first SAS flight to Hong Kong arrived Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg were there to inaugurate the new route, in connection to his Far East visit.

SAS simultaneously also reopened its popular lounge in Terminal 5 at Arlanda airport. The lounge has two separate sections – one for EuroBonus Diamond and Gold members, including Star Alliance Gold, and one for those traveling in Business or SAS Plus. The lounge, which now covers an area of 1,400 m2, has been upgraded in Scandinavian style that combines functionality and design, and offers a larger buffet area, new combined meeting rooms/guest offices, travel services, a new relaxation area, workstations, toilets and showers, as well as a play area for younger travellers. Not to mention plenty of electrical outlets, charging stations, and fast wireless Internet.
