Kone will move people in Jinan City

Finnish elevator and escalator company Kone is supplying 37 elevators and 62 escalators to move people up, down and around in a new a commercial complex to be built in Jinan City, the capital of Shandong province in China.

The multipurpose Luneng Lingxiucheng complex, situated seven kilometers from the downtown area, will consist of a hotel, an office building and a commercial centre.

Kone’s equipment will be used in the office and commercial sections of the complex, which are due to be ready by the end of 2014.

The 140-metre tall office building will have 30 floors and be equipped with 13 Koneelevators.

The other equipment will be used in the 250,000 square metre commercial podium.

“We are very pleased to serve the growing urban population of Jinan City with our pioneering eco-efficient solutions,” said William B. Johnson, Executive Vice President for Kone Greater China.

East China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd designed the complex and the main contractor is Shandong Luneng Genfu Development Co. Ltd.
