On 16 February, the Danish residence was again the venue for a Malaysian Danish Business Council (MDBC) breakfast dialogue.
Invited speaker was Rafael Moreno, Senior Economist at the World Bank’s recently established Country Office (Knowledge & Research Hub), who shared his view on Malaysia’s economic outlook in light of declining commodity prices, the slow-down in China and increasing volatility in international markets.
The World Bank maintains a relatively positive outlook for Malaysia’s economic stability and growth, but underlined in particular the importance of improving the quality of education if long-term growth and productivity is to be sustained.
