New app helping Myanmar’s Farmers won Telenor Youth Forum

Telenor group declared on May 28, 2019 that the new mobile application offering the solution to reduce inequalities in Myanmar’s rice industry was awarded at Telenor Youth Forum where a delegation of 16 young leaders were split into four teams to create their four services to Telenor Group and dtac leadership and experts from Plan International, UNICEF and the Nobel Peace Centre.

Out of the four teams, AgriMatch was announced as the winner receiving USD 15,000 in funding to apply their proposed service aiming to equalize Myanmar’s rice industry between Farmers and middlemen in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goal #10.

As soon as AgriMatch application is complete and fully functional, it will enable Farmers and middlemen to find, contact and rate each other through the AgriMatch mobile platform.

Mentored by Telenor Research VP Ieva Martinkenaite, AgriMatch team members were Sameen Alam from Bangladesh, Rachel Loh from Malaysia, Emilie Udnæs from Norway and Ingrid Rasmussen from Denmark.
