Norwegian singer survives stroke in Thailand

Knut Storbukas, also known under his artist name Sputnik, suffered from a stroke while performing near Pattaya. The 71 year old Norwegian survived the trip to the hospital.

According to Norwegian newspaper VG the popular singer was hit by a severe blood clot in the brain while on stage in the second week of 2015. The doctors told “Sputnik” that he was lucky too survive.

Knut “Sputnik” Storbukas is sort of a legend in his home country where he even has his own museum that exhibits all of his silver, gold and platinum records. He is a musician and a truck driver, and is also known for recording a music video on the Red Square in 1990. The music video is called “Lukk op din hjertedor”, which means open up your heart; it can be found on Youtube.

In Thailand Sputnik is known both as a musician a provider of charity. According to Norwegian newspaper TA, Sputnik has spent the last five winters in Thailand playing concerts in the Pattaya area and in 2014 he donated NOK 146.000 he had collected in 2013 to a Thai orphanage.
