Swedish State delegation visits China

 

Swedish State Secretary to the Minister of Enterprise,  Håkan Ekengren, made a visit to China, 19 – 25 April.

The State Secretary and his delegation began their visit at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition. While in Shanghai Ekengren met with several companies in the automotive industry.

Ekengren later visited Qingdao, where insight was provided of the future of Saab/Nevs.

Last stop of the State Secretary’s visit to China was Beijing, where he met with the Chairman of the electric utilities company State Grid, Mr. Liu Zhenya, as well as Vice Minister for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr. Su Bo.

At the meeting with MIIT, discussions on the continued bilateral collaboration in promoting small and medium sized enterprises were held. The Swedish delegation also raised the possibility of further collaboration in issues regarding vehicle solutions, for example type approval of heavy vehicles, development of electric vehicles, length and weight standardization for trucks, and vocational training for vehicle technicians.

Lastly, the State Secretary participated in a reception with Swedish companies and Chinese institutions, like China Development Bank, at the residence of the Embassy of Sweden.
