The treaty of friendship between Denmark and Thailand was on 21st of May 1858 signed by H.M. King Frederik VII of Denmark, H.M. King Mongkut of Siam and H.M. King Pinklao of Thailand. It marks the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between Denmark and Thailand. The treaty was replaced 67 years later in 1925 by a more even-handed treated according to which Danish nationals who broke the law would no longer be tried and sentenced by the Danish consul but would come properly under the jurisdiction of Thai courts.
