The late Prince Henrik of Denmark had a continuing interest in environmental programs in Thailand

On 18 March, The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok took another trip down memory lane, this time highlighting the late Prince Henrik’s visit to Thailand 32 years ago and his interest in environmental programs in Thailand.

The Embassy writes:

ON THIS DAY: 18 March 1999.
On this day, His Royal Highness Prince Henrik, alongside a delegation from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), visited Thailand.

The late Prince Henrik was a protector for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Denmark and had a continued interest in environmental programs in Thailand.

During the visit, Prince Henrik traveled by helicopter over the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary to Huai Mae Dee. He was given an introduction to three projects supported by the Danish government through the Danish Cooperation for Environment and Development program (DANCED).

The visit by Prince Henrik and the World Wildlife Fund stands as a great example of the long environmental collaboration between Denmark and Thailand.

Back in 1999, ScandAsia also covered the late Prince Henrik’s visit to Thailand. You can read the full article here
