We Effect and Swedish politicians visit Hanoi

A group of members from the Swedish Parliament visited the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi on 7 January together with the Swedish development organization We Effect. The group of parliamentarians are on a field trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. Chargé d’affaires Ylva Jansson and Second secretary Gustav Dahlin received the group.

We Effect´s work in Vietnam is part of the programme Strengthening Capacities for sustainable development of Cooperatives and other Civil Society Organisations in South East Asia, which includes support to local organisations in Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia.

Mr Hoang Tuan Cuong, Country Director of South East Asia of We Effect said that “The Swedish Parliament Delegation visit We Effect INGO and their local partners (Yen Bai Provincial Alliance, Vietnam Farmer Union, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance) to learn about how the cooperative movement in Vietnam works and the operation of partners to contribute to the development of Vietnam cooperative movement. The Delegation also visits the project site in Yen Bai to see and understand the daily operation of agricultural cooperatives and their farmers”.
