Ragunda introduces Thai high school program

Sweden’s first three year high school program for Thai language and social studies will begin in the fall 2006 at Bispgården in Ragunda.
     That is what the local government in Ragunda municipality has proposed in cooperation with Stjordal municipality in Norway.
     Twenty students, nationwide applications are welcome, will be accepted in the first batch. They will be living in the school in Bispgården, near the King Rama V memorial pavilion and other facilities built around the Sala the commemorate the Thai king´s visit in July 1897.
     It is anticipated that most of the education will be conducted in English language.
     Students will be able to have the third year vocational training at Swedish companies and institutions in Bangkok.
     Ragunda has applied for EU support to facilitate the new program in addition to use own funds.
