Finnair announced that its business class cabins on MD-11 aircraft will be renewed. Finnair is the first European airline to renew its Business Class cabins in every aircraft belonging to its intercontinental fleet. The renewal, scheduled for 2005, will include the introduction of lie-flat beds.
After the changes Finnair will offer a total of 36 seats in each intercontinental Business Class cabin, while the seat pitch will increase from the presently 127 centimeters to 160 centimeters.
The renewal is part of the broader ongoing fleet renewal, in which, over the last five years half of the airline’s fleet has been renewed.
The changes will take place on the six MD-11 aircraft on flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and Miami.
