Swedish Festival 2012 in Bangkok

Get ready to have fun at the first Swedish Festival 2012 in Bangkok in June! Organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok and Megabangna, the Swedish Festival 2012 will be held to celebrate the 144th anniversary of Thai-Sweden relations, showcasing Swedish culture and way of life, both traditional and contemporary, in Thailand. 

The Swedish Festival will be held at the Fashion Gallerial, Level 1 at Megabangna from June 1 – 10. The Swedish Jazz Festival will take place on June 9-10 as part of the Swedish Festival 2012 featuring live performances and workshops by world-class Swedish Jazz artists such as Camilla Lundstedt, Ulf Wakenius, Eric Wakenius and Jonathan Fritzen.  Well-known local Jazz performers such as Koh Mr Saxman, Passakorn ‘Mint’ Morasilpin from The Infinity and Neung-Jakkawal will also join the shows.

A lot of fun activities including the Live Swedish Life Exhibition and a range of cultural performances including Mid-Summer Dance, Swedish Little Frog, and a traditional Swedish costume will be on display over 2 weekends. 
 
There will also be various workshops and activities to introduce to local visitors Swedish culture and values such as Making of krans (flower head wreaths) and Swedish traditional games.

Participants can also sample Swedish food from Authentic Swedish cuisine from Ikea. 

Registrations for free workshops can be made at the Information Counter, Level 1.
