Tourism Authority of Thailand Goes for Green Tourism Market

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently organized a trip for Directors and Marketing Executives from TAT’s international offices in 20 countries including Sweden and Finland to meet with local hospitality business people at Sofitel Krabi hotel in Krabi province and Rua Rassa hotel in Trang province to discuss plans to promote Thailand Tourism in 2013. After the meeting, they decided to go for Green Tourism market as well as promoting Thailand as a destination for honeymoon. 

Mr. Charun Chuennaitham, the Director of TAT in Trang Province, revealed that Mr. Manit Bunchim, the Regional Director of TAT organized for Directors and Marketing Executives from TAT’s international offices in 20 countries which include Sweden, Finland, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, France, Italy, United States, UAE (United Arab Emirates), Czech Republic, Belgium, Spain, Netherland, Switzerland, Iran, Canada, Romania and Latin America to meet with local business people to discuss plans to promote the country’s tourism. 

TAT also organized a trip to Koh Kradan, Koh Mook (Emerald Cave), Koh Chuak, Koh Ma and Koh Ngai for participants to enjoy the beauty of each destination, so that they can promote them to tourists in Europe, America and Africa more effectively.

In 2013 TAT aims to promote the country especially Andaman side to Green Tourism market and honeymoon couples. The aim is to increase the number of tourists from Europe by 7% or about 5.5 million people, and increase the country’s revenue by 10%. Also they aim to increase the number of tourists from America by 6% or about 1 million people and increase the country’s revenue by 11%.

TAT revealed that the number of tourists from Europe, African Middle East, and America has increased every year. Trang and Satoon provinces have become more popular destinations.
