Thai Authorities Celebrate the 115th Commemoration of King Rama V in Sweden

In response to an invitation from Ms. Terese Bengard, Mayor of Ragunda Kommun, Thai authorities from Bangkok Metropolitan Council visited Ragunda to celebrate the 115th Commemoration of King Rama V in Sweden on 19 July 2012.

Lead by Mr. Suthichai Weerakulsunthorn, Chairman of Bangkok Metropolitan Council, and Mr. Somchai Sianglai, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Thai authorities visited Ragunda Kommun to celebrate the 115th Commemoration of King Rama V in Sweden as well as to strengthen relationship between the two countries.

The event took place at the Royal Thai Pavillion in Sweden. Among the honored guests attending were Mr. Somchai Sianglai, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture, H.E. Mr. Thanarat Thanaputti, Thai Ambassador in Sweden, Mr. Suthichai Weerakulsunthorn, Chairman of Bangkok Metropolitan Council and Mr. Mikael Sjolund, Vice Mayor of Solleftea Municipality.

Among the highlights were Ceremonial parading to the Royal Thai Pavilion in the morning and Thai-Swedish Cultural Performances including Thai dance “Blessings for the day”, Swedish Zittra Band “Summer Inspiration” , Thai performances from different regions of the country, Swedish folk music, Thai-Swedish musical and dance performance.
