Swedish Embassy Exercise with Heyrobics

On Saturday August 25, 2012, the Swedish Embassy of China turned yellow-blue-pink as Swedish exercise Heyrobics, an international version of national Swedish sport  “Jympa” took on a crowd made up of more than 100 local Beijingers, expats and embassy employees for 60 minutes full of push–ups, jumps, sprints and smiles!

Tunes ranging from Ibiza club hits to local Swedish hero Magus Uggla created a bright contrast to traditional yoga moves – all in spirit of health and good times.

Heyrobics started out in the summer of 2010 as a couple of friends got together in a Beijing Park mimic-ing the Swedish exercise “Jympa”. Since then, the formerly informal group has grown into being Heyrobics, one of the fastest growing local sports in the Chinese capital. Since last year they’re also featuring HeyRunning, where people run together for marathon training or for fun, and with activities starting to spread throughout China!

Embassy sessions in Beijing takes places on a pop-up basis, announced up to 7 days ahead of time!
