Sweden’s Migration Minister Ms Barbro Holmberg arrives in Bangkok Friday morning 24 September for ‘quota intake of refugees in Thailand’.
This according to her official calendar distributed to Swedish press.
What this means in practice has however not been made public.
Scandasia has asked the Swedish embassy and the minister’s press secretary to elaborate without success.
UNHCR Bangkok has heard about a visit, but they are not involved.
And the Swedish NGO Diakonia, who works with refugees from Burma in Thailand, did know nothing about the visit when Scandasia called.
