Danish ambassador and wife participate in opening of exhibition in Beijing

On 27 October 2012, Danish Ambassador to China Mr. Friis Arne Petersen and his wife Birgitte Wilhelmsen attended the opening reception of an exhibition of the French-American artist Louise Bourgeois at the Danish art gallery Faurschou in Beijing’s art district 798.

Together with the founders of the Faurschou art gallery, Jens and Luise Faurschou, and the curator at the gallery, Jerry Gorovoy, the ambassador and his wife enjoyed the contributions to contemporary art by Louise Bourgeois at the Danish art gallery.

The art of Louise Bourgeois has been exhibited around the globe including at Tate Modern, London and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Before she passed away in 2010, Bourgeois was awarded the National Medal of Arts by former U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1997.

The exhibition at the Faurschou gallery in Beijing opened on 27 October 2012 and will end on 24 March 2013.
