Cab driver awarded one million

A Thai taxi driver in Bangkok has been awarded THB one million from a Swedish man whose dead 11 year old daughter was found by the Thai in Phang Ngha province.
“I will use the money to purchase a new cab and a house,” says the 53 year old driver Khun Surapol to the newspaper Daily News. “And I will also make merits for the child.”
Khun Surapol received the first 100 000 baht of his award on Wednesday and will get the rest on 18 February. The award sum was announced late December.
Khun Surapol recognised the Swedish girl’s corpse on a rescue car and contacted her father.
