Jonas Andersson stars TV-broadcasted Dag Hammarskjöld Centenary show in Laos

Dag Hammarskj๖ld of Sweden, Secretary General of the United Nations 1953-1961 and one of the most admired and respected international leaders of our time, will be commemorated by the Swedish embassy in Laos’ capital Vientiane on 3 June.
     2005 is the 100th anniversary of Hammarskj๖ld’s birth and the celebration in Laos takes place as the former Secretary General was mediating in the conflict between the Kingdom and the Patet Lao guerrilla during his time in office.
     Representatives from the UN and the foreign ministries of respective countries, from Sweden most likely including the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Hans Dahlgren, will participate along with business representatives and local artists from Thailand and Laos.
     The Swedish performer of the Thai folk music style “luk tung”, Jonas Andersson, along with his artist partner Cristie Gibson who are stars in both Thailand and Laos, will be the leading artists and appear for the first time in the country, during a free evening concert to take place on Laos biggest stadium, with a 20 000 guests capacity, to be broadcasted live on Laos television.
