Scanmach Asia Co., Ltd. has appointed Arne Christensen new co-director to help Managing Director Marius Pedersen run the fast expanding company within import and reconditioning of used wood working machinery for clients in Thailand and elsewhere in Asia.
Arne Christensen comes from Carnitech Asia, a company within the Marel Group, which was recently reorganized and merged with a local agent of Poll, another company within the Marel Group.
“I am looking forward to working with Marius Pedersen and Scanmach,” says Arne Christensen.
“I know the wood working industry from my days with Nordfab and Marius is a fantastic dynamic and inspiring person. While he will continue his focus on selling and sourcing of the best machines for the clients, my main duties will initially be to get the work at the factory better organized.”
Arne Christensen will start in his new job on 1 July 2005.
“At Carnitech, it became increasingly difficult to sell the new Danish Carnitech equipment, mostly for the seafood processing industry, because of the many copy products in the market. By the end, it was mostly Marel’s products, we were selling, so it made sense that Marel took over the company and transferred the activities to the local agent,” he adds.
“The new agent will also concentrate mainly on Thailand, while I was selling all over Asia, especially in Vietnam.”
