Indonesian minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono met Finnish foreign minister Elina Valtonen in Jakarta on 27 October 2025 to explore cooperation in renewable energy, water and waste management, and sustainable smart-city development.

Agus presented Indonesia’s new Infrastructure Project Facilitation Office (IPFO), launched on 21 October 2025, as an integrated platform linking government, investors and partners to accelerate national projects and reduce bureaucratic overlaps.

Indonesia estimates infrastructure needs of about 640 billion$ over the next five years and is seeking “creative financing” with international partners to ensure investments deliver community benefits.

IPFO is positioned to support public–private partnerships, with state partners PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) and PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PT PII) helping to mitigate risks and bolster investor confidence as Finland–Indonesia collaboration expands.
