Parliamentarians attend roundtable discussion

Three Swedish parliamentarians will attend a roundtable discussion in Vietnam 15-16 August about access to public information.
The meeting aims to improve the National assembly of Vietnam’s ability to inform citizens, for example about proposals to change laws and regulations.      Swedish participants will share their experiences of interacting with the general public, media, educational institutions and other groups in society.
Swedes enjoy a very high degree of access to information at national and local government offices and publicly held organizations and agencies. There is however attempts by the EU to enforce stricter information control in the member states.
