Swedish booth at Expo 2002 in Vietnam

Sweden will be among the seven foreign commercial services who will have a booth at the Expo 2002 to be held by the Ho Chi Ming City’s Department of Trade from October 9-14, 2002. The others are Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and the Indian and American Chambers of Commerce, as well as Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The Expo 2002 will have a total of 225 Vietnamese enterprises participating in the event. According to Trade Department Deputy Director, Nguyen Dinh Mai, handicrafts, which have export advantages, will be the focus of the exhibition. Others featured commodities including garments, furniture, and food.
A Roundtable Conference for Business Partner Cities in the Asia- Pacific Region will take place at Rex Hotel. Representatives from 12 cities of Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Melbourne and HCM City will attend the conference. The Roundtable Conference will focus on supporting small and medium sized enterprises in the expansion of their exports, particularly to the US and Europe.
30 students will act as guides during the expo at the HCM City International Exhibition and Convention Centre, 446 Hoang Van Thu.
