Finland to Deliver Solution for Thai’ Shin Satellite

Finland’s Comptel Corporation will deliver mediation and provisioning solutions to Shin Satellite in Thailand. The agreement to deliver Comptel EventLink® mediation solution and Comptel InstantLink® provisioning solution for operators’ IP-based satellite network was reported on 6 October.
The value of the agreement has not been disclosed.
“Our delivery of both event mediation and provisioning solutions to a leading Asian satellite company is very important to Comptel, since it represents the IP based satellite services that Shin Satellite is providing,” said Kari Miettinen, head of Comptel’s APAC business, Comptel Communications Sdn Bhd.

Comptel EventLink® is a next-generation mediation solution that supports both file- and record-based end-to-end data processing. Comptel EventLink creates a truly convergent mediation layer. It eliminates the need for multiple mediation systems in multi-network environments, such as Next Generation Network.
Comptel InstantLink® automates the user provisioning and service activation processes. It covers the entire provisioning workflow – from order entry to billable service.
Comptel Corporation is a Finnish company specializing in convergent mediation, charging, provisioning and network inventory software solution provider.
Shin Satellite, subsidiary of Shin Corporations, is the first privately-owned satellite company in Asia with four satellites in orbit. Shin Satellite satellites in geostationary orbit with corresponding Thai-based customer service facilities. The operator’s services help companies and governments broadcast television, connect to the Internet via satellite or link communications among countries under the Thaicom footprint, which covers Asia, Australia, Africa, the Middle East and most of Europe.
