Swedish Telecom Group to Invest US$ 250 Million in Vietnam

Sweden’s Ecton AB group announced US$ 250 million investment in Vietnam’s telecommunication infrastructure from now till 2010 on November.
         Ecton will invest in a production chain of C3Play equipment that used to receive and transmit digital and wireless signals, and television waves, in addition to VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) telephone services, and broadband Internet (ADSL) service.
         The company will complete a research project, testing operation, and construction of its VoIP and VoD (Video on Demand) stations in Hanoi and HCM City this year. Next year, the group will provide services for Vietnamese and international clients, and as of 2007, Ecton plans to export hardware and services worth $50 million per year.
