Swedish Match Tour, the leading professional sailing series in the world, will take place for the first time in Asia. Malaysia has been chosen to host a leg of this international sailboat racing event from 29th November to 4th December this year.
Malaysia is one of three new race locations introduced in the Swedish Match Tour series this year, with the others being the St. Moritz Match Race (Switzerland) and the Brazil Match Cup. This Malaysian leg is named the ‘Monsoon Cup’ implying the unpredictable wind and rain during the monsoon season.
The inaugural event of the Monsoon cup will take place in Pulau Duyung, Terengganu. This will be the 50th event of the Swedish Match Tour.
