The Scandinavian Church’s playground has been renovated to new equipment. The new playground will be opened on 27 November.
A group of Scandinavian women comprising Gitte Svantemann and Gitte Holm Madsen from Denmark and Cattis Bjorlin Hansen from Sweden have come up with a novel idea to replace an old and unsafe playground in the grounds of the Scandinavian Church in Bangkok.
“We started talking about just how to raise enough money and we came up with the idea of mailing Scandinavian companies asking them to support our project idea. And many companies reacted positively,” says Gitte Svantemann.
The group raised a total of Bt 280,000 with donations from companies and private donors. Among those who helped with their generosity were Danske Bank, Nordea, Oriflame, BNH, Maersk, Jebsen & Jessen, Jyske Bank, Ramboll, Dumex, Dantherm, Viking and Euro-Center.
