Direct Flights from Billund to Thailand

So far all overseas flights from Denmark have been offered from Copenhagen, but due to the Danes’ growing interest in Phuket, Thailand, Denmark’s largest travel agency – MyTravel – will offer direct flights from the other part of Denmark as well; from Billund Airport on Jutland.

The winter season of 2006/2007 will be the first season with these new flights, which will serve the more than 1500 Danes from Jutland, who go to Thailand each winter season. Instead of having to go via the Danish capitol, they can now look forward to a straight connection. The first departure is scheduled for November 2nd 2006.

MyTravel will create this connection in cooperation with MyTravel Airways. The flights will be without any lay-overs and the passengers wont have to change airplane – however, the planes are expected to go via Sharjah in the Middle East for a short stop. The travels will be produced by travel companies Spies, Tjæreborg, and Ving.
“Even though the distances in Denmark are small, it is still easier to fly from Billund than having to go to Copenhagen first. That’s why we have decided to base some of our departures to Thailand in Billund,” says MyTravel’s Sales and Marketing Director, Jan Vendelbo, to Vejle Amts Dagblad on Monday.
