Cambodian TV Buys Swedish Reality ‘Star’

Cambodian CTN is the latest to sign up with Swedish producer Strix to broadcast reality TV format winner ‘The Bar’. Close to 20 countries have now bought the rights to the Swedish production broadcast ‘blue chip’.
The deal is a first of its kind for Strix in Asia and the company claims that since its launch in 2000, ‘The Bar’ has been aired in 18 countries. Plans in 2006 are to produce the 38th program series of the format, which is the Strix ‘answer’ to ‘Big Brother’.
Their most famous and profitable production to date is ‘Survivor’ – or ‘Robinson’ as the format is called in Sweden where it was first broadcast in 1997.
