New Initiative by Danida for Vietnamese Enterprises

The Global Competitiveness Facility for Vietnamese Enterprises (GCF) will assist Vietnamese companies to capture the possibilities in competition on the international markets.
The Global Competitiveness Facility (GCF) is part of Denmark’s Business Sector Program Support (BSPS) to Vietnam by Danida.
The project is aimed to facilitate the access of Vietnamese enterprises to international market by strengthening the use of certifications and standards as well as by supporting business associations and markets for business development services. The Facility will predominantly support initiatives in the provinces of Ha Tay, Nghe An, Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa.
The Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen explains “The Global Competitiveness Facility is an important element in the development of the Vietnamese business sector. Not only does it help give the private sector a voice in order to establish a fruitful dialogue with local authorities – it will also help to make the production of goods with strong export potential more effective. Essential business services, standards and certifications are all important elements of a fruitful and efficient business climate.”
GCF will also support a twinning project between Dansk Standard and Vietnam’s office for Technical Barriers for Trade (TBT Vietnam). In connection with Vietnam’s accession to WTO, Vietnam must establish a TBT office, where trade enquiries from abroad can be answered. Dansk Standard has undertaken similar twinning projects before.
GCF’s homepage containing contact information will soon be launched on www.gcf-vn.org.
