The Moon Reaches New Heights

Chiangmai’s contemporary art gallery La Luna has recently been renovated, expanding the gallery by almost 200 square meters, and is ready to open its brand new second floor officially on October 27 at 6 PM.
The new second floor is partly in an old wooden riverside-house, and partly in the newly designed ‘warehouse’ style concrete extension, lends itself to displaying furniture and art together.
“After two years we needed some more wall-space to display the many stunning pieces of art made by renowned and talented artists,” says La Luna’s director, Sommai Lumdual.
While continuing to display paintings and photos from more than 50 artists in South East Asia, the new La Luna Gallery will also introduce designer furniture from the Philippines and fashion accessories from Thai designer Miguel La Salle.
“At the same time, we thought it would be great to introduce some new products into La Luna. Chiang Mai has an abundance of great Chinese and Thai-style furniture, so we have chosen something exceptional and fitting for an art gallery,” he says.
