Each contestant in the writing competition must submit a maximum of five short stories, between 1,000 to 2,000 words long, or a cartoon strip of between 10-30 pages (colour or monochrome) to the Kim Dong Publishing House by June 30 2007, Vietnamese media reports.
The Danish Writers’ Association is co-organizing the competition along with Ha Noi Writers’ Association and the Kim Dong Publishing House. It is the first competition of its kind in Vietnam in an effort to diversify the current poor-content children’s books in Vietnam.
Most comic books published in Vietnam are translated from foreign orginals, such as Japan and Korea.
