Swedish probiotic tablets and oral health products will soon be available in 2007 through out Indonesia imported by PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, a dynamic pharmaceuticals distribution company in Indonesia which focuses on innovative products.
The agreement signed between Kalbe Farma and a Swedish biotechnology company BioGaia.The tablets will be sold under Kalbe Farma´s brand and the oral health products under BioGaia´s brand.
BioGaia is a biotechnology company that sells products and licenses to companies operating in the area of functional foods & beverages and healthcare.
Currently available from BioGaia are chewable tablets, oil drops and patented straws containing Reuteri, a microorganism which helps improve the human body’s own defense system and especially keeps the mouth free of infections. A special cap is available for dosing Reuteri into liquid/beverages at the time of consumption.
To the dairy industry, BioGaia offers Reuteri culture as an ingredient of milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese, ice cream and infant formulas etc.
The BioGaia Probiotic chewable tablets offer consumers a better gut health without demanding a change in their consumption habits.The tablets can easily be taken at breakfast in the same way as calcium or Vitamin C pills – chewed, swallowed directly or simply allowed to melt in the mouth.
Each tablet contains 100 million live Lactobacillus reuteri protectis.
