Denmark Hopes to Make Vietnamese City Blossom

The blooming aid assistance – which Denmark is giving through the Danish International Development Agency (Danida) – will be channeled through a program to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s), according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Trade.
More than 182,000 USD (approx. 1 million DKK) will be given to a project run by the Dalat Hasfarm Company which provides technical assistance to farmers in growing high-quality flowers, flower gathering, post-harvest protection, and buying flowers for export, according to local media reports.
Danida will also inject more than 37,000 USD (approx. 214,000 DKK) to the Da Lat Flower Association in order to help them set up a professional organization for flower growers. Finally, a project by the Mai Nguyen Co. Ltd will receive more than 81,000 USD (approx. 467,000 DKK) for the purpose of developing post-harvest services for flower growers and to build a model for growing high-quality flowers for export to Europe, the United States, and Japan.
