Sweden Funds Bio-diversity Preservation in Central Vietnam

The project – which the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has decided to co-fund along with the Dutch Poverty Reduction Cooperation Fund – will be implemented in the provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Tri under the management and technical assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
The project is aimed at preserving biodiversity, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty through the sustainable use of natural resources as well as the recovering and maintenance of the forests, reports the Vietnamese newspaper Thanh Nien Daily.
The financial support from Sweden will also help the efforts to improve managerial skills for local authorities and seeking a sustainable financial mechanism for environmental protection.
