The Swedish Embassy in the Philippines and the Swedish Trade Council will be heading a delegation from the 18th to 23rd of March 2007 in order to promote Swedish involvement in Asian Development Bank projects. The purpose of the delegation is to facilitate future ADB contracts for Swedish companies in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam especially.
Sweden is planning large investments in the area mainly through cooperation between ADB and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). SIDA is finalizing a credit frame agreement of about 1 billion Swedish kroner. The main areas of focus are the environment, energy and urban development and all relevant companies are invited to join the delegation’s activities. So far the programme contains luncheons with potential business partners as well as more formal country and sector presentations by ADB staff. The embassy also promises participants tailor made individual programmes relating to country or sector of interest as well as optional visits to Hanoi and Bangkok upon request.
