Thailand again on March 5 was honored as “World’s Best Tourist Country” in the prestigious annual Grand Travel Award by Travel News, the Swedish Travel publication, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand as quoted on Andaman News website.
The 2007 award is the fifth consecutive year that Thailand has been selected as the most favorite holiday destination by Swedish travelers, while the other top ten travel destination are South Africa, the United States, Italy, China, Greece, Denmark, Spain, France, and Croatia.
In addition, Thai Airways International, a national carrier of Thailand, ranked second place in the “World’s Best International Airlines” category, after Singapore Airlines.
Winners in each of the 19 travel-related categories were selected by a travel trade jury comprising over 600 members of the Swedish travel and tourism industry.
