It may have been one day too late, but on the 17th of April, The Danish Embassy hosted the celebrations of Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe’s 67th birthday. The event took place at the magnificent Royal Ballroom at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. Of the 400 invited, approximately 300 had made it to the reception. Unfortunately, the Queen herself did not attend the celebrations.
The Danish ambassador, Michael Sternberg made a speech in which he congratulated the Queen and also took the opportunity of congratulating His Majesty the King of Thailand on his forthcoming 80th birthday. After the speech the two national anthems were played.
