Free European Children’s Films on Screen in Vietnam

Children in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will get to see the best of European children’s films for free during the Vietnamese European Children’s film festival which will take place from 17 to 24 May at Maegastar Cineplex, 191 Ba Trieu Stret, Hanoi and from 21 to 31 May 2007 at New Galaxy Cinema, 230 Nguyen Trai, Ho Chi Minh City.
Jointly organised by the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam, the Embassies of EU Member States, European Cultural Institutes and the Cinema Department, ten feature films and two animated films will be shown including worldwide favourites such as ‘Beauty and the Bastard’ from Finland and ‘Simon Small Moves In’ from Sweden.
“Children of all ages are inclined to enjoy cinema – particularly on the big screen – and most also learn something in the process of being entertained. Whether it is animation, or the latest star-studded blockbuster, there is something out there for kids to watch, enjoy, and discuss afterwards with their peers.” said Markus Cornaro, Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam.
Free tickets can be picked up at Goethe Institute, British Council, MegaStar Cineplex and New Galaxy Cinema.
