A memorable celebration will be on 21 June 2007 at Oslo City Hall. H.M. King Harald V has been invited to attend as well as representatives of the Government and Parliament, in addition to many persons from the private and public sectors and, not least, from a close partner organization since 1919, the Norway-America Association.
The program will be a combination of talks and entertainment by top-quality performers. The keynote speaker is Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Store, and the Master of Ceremonies the internationally renowned actress and producer Liv Ullmann. Following the program, His Honor the Mayor of Oslo Per Ditlev-Simonsen will host a reception with refreshments.
There’s also Homecoming days on 23-24 June 2007 which will be off to Lillehammer including visits to Bjornstjerne Bjornson’s Aulestad and Sigrid Undset’s home Bjerkebaek and a celebration of Midsummer’s Eve at Maihaugen.
