On Denmark’s Constitution Day, June 5, a congress was held in Hanoi to establish the Vietnam-Denmark Friendship Association (VNDFA) and Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, former Deputy Fisheries Minister, was elected to be President of the association which was the 54th member of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).
The association will focus on promoting the Vietnam-Denmark friendship by hosting events to mark the two countries’ holidays and will help the two countries’ businesses to seek partners and develop trade ties.
The association will also focus on developing localities nationwide and organising socio-cultural, educational and training activities. Furthermore, it will expand its co-operation with Denmark’s non-governmental organisations to help disadvantaged people in Vietnam.
Vietnam is always in Danish hearts, said the Danish Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Peter Lysholt Hansen , adding that this is the reason Vietnam will continue to receive his country’s priority for assistance.
He committed to co-ordinating with the association to promote people-to-people exchange in culture, sports and tourism besides the two countries’ investment co-operation, technology transfer and business development. (VNA)
