Vice Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri Dato’ Seri A. Wahab Nawi, Chairman of Ericsson (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., has been awarded the Royal Order of the Polar Star, Commander First Class, by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
The royal decoration was awarded for to Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Wahab in recognition of the important contributions that he has made to Swedish-Malaysian relations, especially in the maritime sector.
The Royal Order of the Polar Star is one of the oldest Swedish Orders of Merit. It was instituted by H.M. King Fredrik I of Sweden in 1748 for meritorious achievements in science and literature as well as service to the state and society.
