In cooperation with a local organisation for handicapped DTU has since 1995 developed a program for handicapped children from poor families in the Philippines.
As a part of the program PTU and the local organisation have established 15 resource centres and 118 local centres where children can be examined and have a personal plan of support. The program also helps the parents of handicapped children to establish parents organisation locally as well as on a national plan.
The grant from Danida will make it possible for PTU to finished this project and help more handicapped children and young people in to a better life in the Philippines.
