Singapore: WGC Event Open To Green Pass Holders Too

The organisers of the World Golfers Championships (WGC)
Singapore tournaments have decided to open the event to also green (employment)
pass holders in Singapore.
The first two legs, held at Keppel Club and Marina Bay over
the last month, were restricted to Singaporeans and permanent residents.
WGC Asean advisor Sazali Bava said that the new decision
came about so that a wider variety of golfers can take part in the remaining 10
legs, beginning with the Jurong Country Club event on 23 May.
Meanwhile Princess Birgitta of Sweden and Sven Tumba, founder
of the WGC, have agreed to grace WGC Singapore Finals at Sentosa’s Serapong
course in October.
Princess Birgitta is a big supporter of charity golf and is
an honorary board member of The Royal Swedish Golf Society.
She has her own golf competition in Majorca, named ‘The
Princess Birgitta Trophy’.
Tumba represented Sweden in the Eisenhower Trophy in 1971
and in the World Cup in 1973.
He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey
Federation’s Hall of Fame in 1997.
