Rigbuilder Sembcorp Marine said on Wednesday its Jurong Shipyard unit had secured a letter of intent from Norway’s Seadrill to build a deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig worth $640 million.
The rig, Seadrill’s fourth identical order from SembMarine, is schdeuled for delivery in December 2011, the company said in a statement.
