Swedish Embassy In Manila Closed June 6 And 9

As it stopped servicing visa applications in Manila, the Swedish Embassy announced Friday it will be closed on June 6 and 9 to mark the Swedish and Philippine National Days.
“June 6 and 9 are non-working days. The Embassy will be closed from Friday, 6 June 2008 until Monday, 9 June 2008 in celebration of the Swedish National Day and Philippine Independence Day respectively”, it said in an announcement on its website.
The Philippine government earlier moved the celebration of Independence Day on June 12 to June 9, as part of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s “holiday economics.”
On the other hand, the embassy said it is no longer servicing any new applications starting Friday.
It said it will only hand out approved visas until Thursday, June 12.
For inquiries, the embassy can be contacted at  +63917-5089271, +63919-2701747 or +63920-8250329 or via email, [email protected].
In case of extreme emergency, the embassy can be contacted through its emergency number at +63915-9901005. “Visa application inquiries will not be entertained on this number,” it warned.
