Poor Showing At Villamor

By Per Stangegaard
If it was hangovers from last week-end, or the fact that we had two
tournaments in a row, or were part of a larger tournament? I dont
know, but it was a very poor showing at Villamor this Sunday. Less
than 10 members showed up to support Eimie’s arrangement.
Well, perhaps the many bad rumours spread about Villamor were also
a contributing factor, but the course is constantly being improved, and
the facilities likewise. I think we should support the developments at
Villamor since it is laid out as a championship course, and is so close to
where most of us live.
I hope we are not discouraged to use this
course for future events, but it is of course up to the members where
they want to arrange the tournaments.
The January and March tournaments are still open !!
There are no official tournaments planned until the February
tournament at Fairways & Bluewater on Boracay in February, but I
have received an invitation from Ruth to play The John Rice Fund
Raising Event on 7th December, 2008, at Intramuros, tee-off 11.00
am. – Ps. 3.000,- incl. of greenfees and caddy fees, golf shirt DOGS
Presentation with many prizes afterwards at LA Caf.
    Please confirm direct to Ruth.
We are 16 Scandinavians (members and non-members of SGCP) who
are playing this coming friday at the St. Andrews event at Malarayat.
We shall defend the Scandinavian colors. Last year we got an
honorable 3rd place. We shall see if we can improve on that this year.
