Norway looking to strengthen ties with Sabah

The developing potential of the green sector on the Malaysian district of Sabah has caught the attention of Norway. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman from Sabah has stated, that he recently received a courtesy call by Norwegian Ambassador to Malaysia, Arild Braastad in Sri Gaya, where issues discussed included how to strengthen bilateral ties between Norway and Sabah and potential areas of cooperation in business and investment.
According to the Malaysian newspaper Daily express Arild Braastad has said, that he is looking forward to developing cooperation with Sabah especially in oil and gas, hydro power and aquaculture.
“We have high competency in these areas and believe we can establish cooperation with Sabah as the state has a lot of potential.” He said.
Datuk Seri Musa Aman replied that the state Government highly welcomed Norway’s interest in Sabah especially in hydro power, aquaculture and tourism.
“Sabah would like to benefit from your competencies especially in transfer of technologies in the areas you mentioned. We can learn from Norway’s experience,” he said.
