The European Union met with nations of the Asia-Pacific to discuss security policy in the region at the ASEAN regional forum on July 22-23 in Phuket, Thailand. On the agenda were issues such as North Korea’s nuclear tests and the situation in Burma.
The EU was represented by the EU Council Secretary General and High Representative of the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Mr Javier Solana.
Sweden and the EU Presidency were represented by Sweden’s Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Lennart Linnér, Defence Attaché Karl Henriksson, Deputy Director Karl-Olof Andersson and Counsellor Liselott Martynenko Agerlid.
