The Swedish Trade Council Starts New Office in Singapore

The Swedish Ambassador to Singapore and the Singaporean Ambassador to Sweden were both present at the inauguration event on the 12th of December along with prominent business leaders in the local Swedish community.
The ceremony started off with remarks from the President of the Swedish Trade Council, the Swedish Ambassador to Singapore and the President of Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK).
After cutting the ribbon the guests networked and later carried on to the ambassador’s residence for a reception and Lucia-show.
Consultant Knut Ngo, who is responsible for the office in Singapore, was fully satisfied with the event.
“The opening ceremony was very successful with good support from the local Swedish business community”, he says.
The Swedish Trade Council in Singapore will from their newly opened office continue working closely with the Swedish Embassy, The Swedish Business Association of Singapore and the Swedish industry to help Swedish companies with establishment in Singapore and to help them grow and expand further in the region.
The cooperation has already resulted in successful promotional activities, not only for Swedish businesses in the country, but also for Swedish delegates who travel to Singapore for specific events such as seminars and exhibitions.


The Singaporean market was previously covered by the Swedish Trade Council’s office in Kuala Lumpur but became present at the Swedish Embassy in Singapore in January 2008.
The trade council’s offices in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines together form the Swedish Trade Council of Southeast Asia. The offices are also responsible for the markets in Indonesia and Cambodia.
